BC Wins Big (Ugly)

After the loss to Georgia Tech, Boston College rebounded well beating Central Florida 34-7. At the end of the first half BC trailed 7-3 and it looked like BC might be in for another long day with the offense struggling - especially behind 5th year signal caller Chris Crane.

Fortunately, the Eagles turned it around in the second half and won this one going away. It was not without a bit of struggle by Crane who continued to make mental mistakes - constantly throwing into coverage including three interceptions.

Among other developments in this game, we saw:

-another solid performance from true freshman running back Montel Harris who was filling in for the dinged up Josh Haden,

-Sid Vicious miss another short field goal, and

-a budding QB controversy- although Coach Jags insisted there was not one - with Domonique Davis (4 for 7 for 30 yards and a TD) taking over for a couple of series in which the offense responded well.

Will we continue to see more and more of this dual threat redshirt freshman? It's likely as Crane has just not made the plays that most expected he would entering this season.

Stay tuned...

That was the most deceptive score ever. Man, those were some awful interceptions. It's one thing to throw into coverage, but its another to throw it right to the defense.

Unfortunatley, 'Nique looked shaky when he tried to heave it beyond 15 yards.

On the plus side, the defense is awesome. Still a minimal pass rush, but they are stout. Montel also looked great ... a little Derrick Knight-esque perhaps (or maybe a Chuckie Dukes in the making)?
