In in a report released by the NCAA yesterday, Boston College earned a 92 GSR score, which tied BC with Duke as tops in the ACC and 4th nationally among Division 1 schools, trailing only Navy (95), Notre Dame (94), and Stanford (93).
The overall number for BC athletes was even better - a GSR of 96, which was well above the national average of 78. BC also had a school-record 18 athletic teams achieve a perfect score of 100.
Although this continues to be a great story for Boston College and all of its sports teams, it is not a reflection on Coach Jags as the statistics were compiled based on student athletes who entered school between 1998 - 2001 and graduated within a 6 year matriculation period.
It is notable, however, that even schools like Georgia Tech - which graduated fewer than 50% of its football players during the relevant time period - are not immune to the resulting embarrassment when viewing the University through an academic lense.
Let's hope BC continues to win by doing it the right way.

Yep, but you can't major in Sociology and other "soft" majors at Georgia Tech either, knucklehead.

Unfortunately for Georgia Tech (and its bitter alums) however, Georgia Tech ranks behind Boston College in the latest US News & World Report academic rankings.
So the argument that Tech is more difficult than BC is a little disingenuous.
